You can use the form below to create configuration files to password
protect a directory in your site. You can choose to display the results
on screen or have them emailed to you.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
- All fields in RED are required
fields.
- Enter the name of your
BudgetHostingWeb account.
- Enter the name of the directory you
want to protect. For example, enter / to protect your Base
Directory, or /files to protect your "files" directory.
- Choose a Zone Name which will appear
when your users log in.
- Enter the User Name and Password
needed to access the directory.
- Finally, when you are certain that
all details are correct, click on the "Create Files"
button.
- Create the files .htaccess and .htpasswd
using the results from this form, then upload them to the protected
directory in your site.
Note: You can add multiple
users to your .htpasswd file using one name:password entry per line.
